Ultimate Lush Recommendations: Yays and Nays!

20:10:00

Hey Guys!

I really hope you liked my previous post where I showed you my small Lipstick collection I started in the past few weeks. I also hope that you had some great recommendations for me on lipsticks to try! If you missed that post, check it out here!

Today, I thought I would do a post which I have never seen on the blogging network. That is a total recommendations list of products to try and perhaps some to avoid also from the cosmetic store Lush. This shop normally supplies products which are used during bath time or in the shower. They are also known to supply lip scrubs, body butter bars and the likes also. The best thing about this store is that they are completely vegan and are continually fighting against Animal cruelty. As far as I am aware, the main areas these shops are here in Ireland are Dublin and Cork. I am not entirely sure on this fact. So unfortunately, I do not have the luxury of having this store locally.

Since about last year, I have been completely obsessed with this store. I think my obsession started through a joke I had with a friend when I used to call him "Lush!" (Hey if you're reading!) We just thought the name of the shop was hilarious I guess. However, when I tried some of these products after purchasing some after a visit to my boyfriend in University last year, the obsession just gradually grew larger and larger. Now that I spend most of my time in Dublin with University life, I am now able to treat myself to the odd visit to a Lush store.

Seeing as I have tried and sampled an array of beautiful products, I thought that I would give you guys a list of products I would recommend and some that I am not the most keen on. I really hope that you enjoy this post and be sure to comment your recommendations also!

The Lush Christmas Collection 2014
I was extremely impressed when I saw this collection. There is no doubt that this was one of the collections that impressed me the most! There was such a variety of products in my opinion that did so many different things. There were products like "Butter Bear" and "The melting snowman" that were really good for the skin and very moisturising. Then there were numbers such as "Luxury Lush pud" which unleashed a beautiful collection of vibrant colours. I also enjoyed the "Lush Holly Go Lightly Bubblebar", which created a mask of green festivities as well as bubbles in your tub. This collection has made me extremely excited for what Lush will release this Christmas! I really can't fault any of these products as it just excited me so much!

The Lush Mother's Day Collection 2015
The look of the products in this year's Mother's day collection, were in my mind quite unimpressive. I found that when I was in two lush stores in Dublin, many of the products were quite damaged and hence not the most attractive things to buy. I did however buy two products. I bought a candy bubble bar which I think was in the collection which was lovely. I never really go for the sweet scents like that but I surprisingly enjoyed it. I also bought the "Secret Garden" bath bomb which isn't as precarious as some of the other products. The product turned my bath green and loads of other small surprise petals and stuff came out of the bath bomb. Honestly it was a bit messy but still enjoyable. A lot of the products in this collection had very earthy smells which aren't the most appealing to me. Oh I totally remember that I tried the "Ultra Violet" bubble bar from this collection and enjoyed it so much!

The Lush Valentines Day Collection 2015
I was truly shocked at how impressive the products in this collection looked. In retrospect, I kind of regret not getting more from this. I've heard nothing but good things about this collection. All of the products looked stunning and any reviews I have seen have been very positive. The only product I can recall picking up from this collection was "Floating Flower". I remember that there was a total love and hate reaction to this product. I personally didn't mind it. I normally enjoy pink bath products the most for some reason, but this was probably the most plain, unspectacular item in the collection. I do remember reading a review where the reviewer detested the smell and described it as "bleach-like". I definitely don't remember such odours from this product.

The Lush Easter Collection 2014/2015 :It was about Easter last year when I got into LUSH and the obsession grew immensely. So I have tried and tested a few of the products from last year's and this year's collections. Honestly, I find some of the products a little bit over-rated like the chocolate Easter egg bath bomb which is covered in a golden layer of glitter. I liked the smell of the "Hoppity Poppity", however it wasn't an exciting array of colours or anything in my bath. There are also products like "Fluffy Egg" which turned your bath pink and has a wonderful sweet smell.

Other Lush products
There are some products that lush sells throughout the year, some of which I adore or have been longing to try and others which just didn't appeal to me in the slightest. I'll try and give you a run down of my opinion on these products.

The very first bath bomb I got was "Twilight". I will always love this one. I just thought it was very sweet because it twinkled in your bath and it just made me very excited. I don't recall the scent of this one but I remember being very excited by it!

I also remember getting "Sakura" which I was very unsatisfied with. I expected something to be inside of it but it made my bath as bland as if I hadn't put anything into it.

The final thing I remember getting that isn't apart of a collection is a bubble bar which was called "Brightside". This bubble bar not only created bubbles, had a gorgeous orange-y zest-y fragrance, but it also spread an incredible firey colour around the tub. I will definitely be repurchasing this baby in the forseeable future.

In conclusion...

  6. Holly Go Lightly was definitely one of my favourites because it had such a festive feel to it :) I actually regret not trying more of the Valentines collection but I was going through a breakup at the time so didn't feel like buying much lol. My favourite from the mother's day collection was probably Mother Superior because it just made my bath so lovely, but the collection on the whole was disappointing especially as so many of the products were badly made and looked scruffy. I love the Easter collection, but I think the Christmas collections will always be my favourites. Sorry for the long comment - but you know I love Lush!

  11. Lush is an all-time favourite, my mum nags at me how much I love buying all the bath bombs/bath melts haha! I like the sound of the violet candy bubble bar, I'm usually an all-round kind of person when it comes to scents, so I would love the sweet smell.
